Well-themed choice of compelling music
A letter of thanks from Suffolk Organists Association
Both on behalf of the SOA (and with it, the Corn Exchange organ!) and me personally, I cannot possibly thank you enough for all you have done to make the fund-raising such a success – before and at the concert. You were so helpful at every stage – and finding another collector afterwards made a big difference.
Please pass on our thanks also to those who run Trianon and who allowed us to have this opportunity; it was so generous of them. The public information aspect (yes, helped by Stephen’s display) has also been extremely valuable. I talked to a number of interested people who had not quite appreciated the maintenance that pipe organs involve and the nature of the problems that have built up with the instrument in the Corn Exchange.
… I greatly enjoyed the imaginative programming and the high quality of the performances; a well-themed choice of compelling music that was played and sung with commitment as well as skill. Plenty of tunes and rhythms and lovely orchestral textures with which to go home!
I have just finished counting the proceeds and the total is: £378.43. This is jolly good and really will help towards keeping the organ playable and tuned. So thank you again.
Nicholas (SOA)
