Local Composer’s medley premiere in September

Music from the 1940s and 1950s is enjoying a revival and local composer and arranger, Andrew Burke has written a new arrangement of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s music. Andrew studied at the Royal Academy of Music in London as a composer and pianist. A resident of Suffolk, he conducts, plays and arranges music and is the Show Musical Director of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society,
His new medley includes all the Rodgers and Hammerstein songs from the golden age of musical theatre, with well-known shows like Oklahoma!, Carousel, South Pacific, The King and I and The Sound of Music. It will be premiered in Trianon Music Group’s Ipswich Prom, which takes place at the Ipswich Corn Exchange on Saturday 12 September 2015 at 7.30pm with pre-concert busking from 6.40pm in aid of the Friends of the Bridge School.
