“COOL” MUSIC PERFORMED “HOT”

For the past three weeks musicians from Trianon Music Group have been rehearsing for their major concert on 15 September at Snape Maltings. Although rehearsals started in warm conditions and the World Cup with players watching the England-Croatia match on various devices during the rehearsal, the past fortnight the players and singers have been rehearsing up to three times each week in steaming heat up to 32C even before the dozens of musicians arrived.
The “cool” music included in Trianon’s programme has been definitely served up “hot”. Professor Chris Green, Artistic Director of Trianon and conductor of this next concert paid tribute to the musicians. Generally, the attendance at the 2 ½ hour rehearsals has been very good. He said “Open doors, windows and fans were in plentiful supply as were liquid refreshments and so we managed each evening even if it meant most of us leaving rehearsals sweat-covered and pretty tired”.
Rehearsals resume at the end of August when, hopefully, conditions will be a little more favourable. Meanwhile, tickets for the concert are on sale from Aldeburgh Productions (01728687110).
